Hennessy wanted a press launch for V.S.O.P that didn't feel like a press launch. The brief was a three-night residency in a hidden DTLA space — part dinner, part jazz bar, part install — where guests would discover the cognac through the room, not a pitch deck. I produced the build from concept through strike: managed a $400K fabrication budget across three vendors, handed off 22 scaled shop drawings, and ran on-site install with a 12-person crew over a four-day load-in.
The most complex piece was a 14-foot suspended brass-and-glass installation that doubled as both lighting and bottle display. Because of ceiling load limits, I worked with the rigging vendor to redesign it as four lighter modules instead of one fixed piece — kept the visual intent, cut the structural risk, and came in $18K under the original quote.
Press coverage in Forbes, Vogue, and Cool Hunting. All three nights sold out within 48 hours of invite.
